Key Responsibilities:
Operate Treatment Systems: Operate, monitor, and adjust physical and chemical treatment processes to treat wastewater effectively.
Conduct Laboratory Analysis: Perform routine laboratory tests to monitor process performance and adjust treatment parameters accordingly. Analyze samples for parameters such as pH, turbidity, chemical oxygen demand (COD), total suspended solids (TSS), etc.
Troubleshoot Equipment: Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and process upsets to minimize downtime and maintain treatment efficiency. Coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.
Quality Control: Ensure treated wastewater meets regulatory requirements and discharge standards. Implement corrective actions as necessary to address non-compliance issues.
Chemical Handling: Handle and store treatment chemicals safely and in accordance with regulatory requirements. Order and maintain inventory levels of chemicals and supplies needed for treatment processes.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of process data, test results, and maintenance activities. Prepare reports for regulatory agencies and management as required.
Safety and Environmental Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Stay updated on environmental regulations and implement best practices for environmental compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
Competent person in CePIETSO-BP.
Previous experience in wastewater treatment operations, preferably in a Food Manufacturing industrial setting.
Knowledge of physical-chemical treatment processes and principles.
Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
