DescriptionJOB SCOPE:Financial Reporting and Analysis:Overseeing the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. Ensuring timely and accurate reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
Budgeting and Forecasting:Developing budgets, forecasting financial performance, and monitoring variances. Working closely with department heads to align budgets with company goals.
General Ledger Management:Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger by overseeing month-end and year-end closing processes. This includes reconciliations and adjustments as needed.
Accounts Payable and Receivable Oversight:Managing the AP and AR functions to optimize cash flow and reduce outstanding balances. Ensuring timely payment processing and collections.
Internal Audits:Conducting internal audits to verify accuracy in financial transactions, records, and reporting. Identifying any discrepancies, implementing controls, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
External Audit Coordination:Acting as the liaison between the company and external auditors. Preparing documents, facilitating auditor requests, and addressing audit findings.
Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards (such as GAAP or IFRS). Managing tax filings, statutory reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
Process Improvement:Evaluating current accounting processes and recommending improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Implementing financial controls to minimize errors and prevent fraud.
Team Leadership and Development:Managing and mentoring the accounting team. Conducting performance reviews, providing training, and fostering a collaborative environment to support team growth.
Risk Management and Controls:Identifying financial risks and implementing controls to mitigate them. Working closely with management to develop risk management strategies.
Cash Flow Management:Monitoring cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations, planning for short-term and long-term needs, and advising on financial strategies to improve cash flow.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:Maintaining accurate records for all financial transactions, policies, and audit findings. Ensuring readiness for future audits or compliance reviews.
Cross-Department Collaboration:Partnering with departments like sales, operations, and HR to support financial planning, budgeting, and compliance.
Stakeholder Reporting:Preparing and presenting financial insights and audit results to senior management and board members. Providing transparency into the company's financial health.
