Job DescriptionReporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the Accountant will work together with the Malaysia and Asia Shared Service Centre (SSC) to support Malaysia business by managing the day-to-day finance operations, complying with company's policies and procedures and local statutory requirements.
Work closely with shared services centre to ensure financial records and transactions are recorded and reported timely and accurately, not limited to AP, AR, and GL.
Support month-end closing and financial reporting activities such as preparation of journals.
Support intercompany transactions such as intercompany billings, reconciliation, and settlements.
Investigate and resolve any enquiries related to accounting records and transactions.
Review balance sheet and work with SSC to ensure balances are substantiated and preparation of cashflow.
Ensure adherence to accounting principles and best practices and maintain a strong system of internal controls.
Handle local statutory compliance matters such as corporate secretarial, audit, and taxation.
Support direct and indirect taxes submission and declaration on timely basis.
Ad hoc queries/requests from various stakeholders.
QualificationsA relevant accounting or finance degree is a prerequisite.
Prior finance or accounting experience is preferred with at least 5 years of experience.
Good understanding of accounting and tax.
Self-motivated, dynamic, and can work independently.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Challenges the current way of working and seeks opportunities to improve.
Fluent in English and conversational Mandarin capability required.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Good team player with strong work ethics.
