**Job Overview:**
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Associate to join our finance team on a part-time basis. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the finance department of a dynamic organization. The Accounts Receivable Associate will be responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate records, and communicating effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Invoice Management:**
- Prepare and send invoices to clients accurately and timely.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding invoices to ensure timely payment.
2. **Payment Processing:**
- Receive and record payments through various methods (cheques, bank transfers, etc.).
- Reconcile payment discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
3. **Data Entry and Record Keeping:**
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of accounts receivable transactions in the accounting software.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly reports detailing accounts receivable activity.
4. **Client Communication:**
- Communicate with clients regarding payment terms, due dates, and any outstanding balances.
- Resolve client inquiries and disputes related to billing in an efficient and professional manner.
5. **Collaboration:**
- Work closely with the finance team to support month-end closing activities.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other reporting as required.
6. **Research and Problem-Solving:**
- Conduct research to solve discrepancies and improve processes related to accounts receivable.
- Proactively identify issues and recommend solutions to enhance the accounts receivable operations.
**Qualifications:**
- Education: A diploma or equivalent in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and familiarity with accounting software; previous experience with accounting software is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial documentation.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
