Service clients in Malaysia and Southeast Asia in a variety of projects in the field of Forensic Investigations and Disputes, guided by experienced Managers and Directors.
Perform document review including review of electronic documents and email using review tools and software.
Provide written summaries and reports as requested on a project by project basis. This may include creating document logs and assisting with the drafting of reports for Clients, Lawyers, Courts, Tribunals and Regulators.
Assist with project engagement administrative tasks and keep project engagement files organised and up-to-date.
Preparing interview questions and documentation.
Review matter materials, assess issues that may fall within the ambit of the investigation.
Interviewing individuals, including sometimes non-cooperative ones.
Preparing written minutes and interview notes.
Drafting interview memorandums and reports, investigation report and email summary.
Reviewing large quantities of documents accurately and efficiently.
Identifying key information and effectively communicating findings to other team members and your review manager.
Collaborating with the review manager and your team members to meet critical deadlines.
Recognizing patterns in the data to allow for consistent coding of similar documents in larger quantities.
Being able to multi-task and work on multiple projects, as needed.
Raising questions and issues in a timely manner to the team.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Law or related disciplines, or undertaken relevant qualifications (e.g. CLP).
Legal experience (i.e. worked as a paralegal, legal secretary or trainee) will be an added advantage.
Good command of English with excellent written and oral communication skills, technical and business writing, good documentation and presentation skills.
Preference for lawyers with fluent English and Mandarin capabilities, including reading, speaking and writing both Simplified and Traditional Mandarin. Experience with taking witness statements preferred. Experience with document discovery or investigations is helpful, but training is provided.
Proficient in use of modern technology, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel.
Detail oriented with strong ability to review, interpret and summarise large volumes of documents with a high level of accuracy and consistency.
Strong time management and organisational skills.
This role does not involve the practice of law, but legal experience and qualifications are highly preferred.
Able to work onsite in Deloitte's TTDI offices, 5 days a week.
