Responsibilities:Oversee the day-to-day operations of the APEL Centre, ensuring all accreditation processes are conducted efficiently and in compliance with relevant policies and standards.
Develop and maintain accurate records and documentation for all APEL activities.
Ensure the centre is fully operational with trained staff, necessary infrastructure, and clear processes.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Engage key stakeholders from faculty, administration, potential students, and industry partners to collect their input and build support for APEL initiatives.
Foster strong relationships with industry partners and the community to enhance experiential learning opportunities for students.
Lead and manage a team of staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
Coordinate with academic staff and assessors to facilitate the accreditation process.
Participate as a member of APEL Committee.
Policy and Instruments Development:
Develop clear policies and guidelines for APEL implementation, including eligibility criteria and assessment methods.
Establish and chair the APEL committee, ensuring continuous quality improvement.
Training and Development:Plan and conduct ongoing training for faculty and administrative staff on APEL processes, assessment methods, and tools.
Provide professional development opportunities for faculty and staff, offering advanced training sessions on assessment techniques and tools on APEL.
Student and Client Support:Establish personalized support services for students applying for APEL, including advising, counselling, and application assistance.
Train the staff to conduct information sessions, workshops, and consultations to assist applicants through the accreditation process.
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:Implement assessment and quality assurance measures to maintain high standards and compliance in APEL evaluations.
Regularly review assessment criteria and processes for consistency and fairness.
Conduct regular internal and external audits to evaluate the effectiveness of APEL processes and outcomes.
Promotion and Outreach:Launch and manage an awareness campaign to educate students, industry partners, faculty, and staff about the benefits and processes of APEL.
Continuously promote APEL and its benefits to prospective students, current students, and external stakeholders using multiple communication channels.
Resource Allocation:Plan the centre's annual budget and develop partnerships with external organizations for additional resources and support.
Integration with Admission and Academic Departments:Work with academic and admission departments to integrate APEL into the admission process.
Monitoring and Evaluation:Monitor and evaluate to track the success and impact of APEL on student outcomes and for policy improvement.
Research and Development:Undertake research on APEL learners' academic success, job readiness, and career advancements.
Collect feedback from employers regarding the performance and preparedness of employees who have benefited from APEL compared to those who haven't.
Strategic Partnerships and Networking:Build strategic partnerships with other educational institutions, professional bodies, and industries.
Participate in MQA, national, and international APEL networks to stay updated on policies, trends, and innovations.
Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI):Establish channels for ongoing feedback from students, faculty, and employers to improve APEL processes.
Use surveys, focus groups, and advisory committees for continuous input.
Implement measures to address findings from audits and feedback.
New Business Development:Participate in new business development initiatives to increase APEL student enrolment.
Develop and implement strategies to attract APEL students.
