Job Summary:
The Assistant Legal Manager (Operations & Compliance) will play a pivotal role in supporting the Company's legal operations, managing compliance, and driving efficiency as the Company scales across multiple jurisdictions.
This role includes overseeing the contract lifecycle management (CLM) process, collaborating with local counsels, driving Center of Excellence (COE) initiatives, and handling day-to-day legal operations to optimize processes and ensure compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and oversee the contract lifecycle management (CLM) process to streamline contract administration.
Manage legal documentation, filing systems, and record-keeping for contracts, agreements, and compliance matters.
Oversee compliance initiatives in overseas jurisdictions, collaborating with local counsels to resolve operational legal issues.
Drive the Center of Excellence (COE) initiatives from the legal perspective, focusing on process optimization and best practices.
Share responsibility for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements, and providing general legal advice to business and operational units.
Support regulatory filings, statutory reports, and compliance documentation.
Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate compliance and legal risks.
Develop compliance frameworks and internal policies to support the Company's growth into new markets.
Qualifications:
Called to the Malaysian Bar, with 4-6 years of post-qualification experience.
Proven experience in legal operations, compliance, or regulatory roles, especially in multi-jurisdictional settings.
Strong organizational skills with a focus on project management and process improvements.
Excellent drafting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and drive initiatives across teams.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in property management, real estate, or startup environments.
Familiarity with COE initiatives and compliance management software.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and solve legal issues.
