Job Description
The Role:The Associate Editor, Fertecon, is a market reporter who drives market coverage relating to prices, news and analysis about both the APAC and international fertilizer and raw material markets, as part of the global Fertecon team.
This candidate will be working in a fast moving and critical commodity sector, talking to market participants across the region and elsewhere to collect market and pricing information and assessing prices in those markets.
In addition to publishing price assessments and commentary about the market they will contribute to methodology development as well as research and write news articles and analysis on major market events.

Representing the company at industry events and conferences, as well as in face-to-face meetings, webinars, and podcasts. You will assist in identifying, developing, and executing on opportunities to drive growth in areas relating to the international fertilizers market.
You will also have opportunities to learn more about other aspects of the business, including technology and editing.

The Business:S&P Global Commodity Insights is the world's leading price reporting agency (PRA) and a premier source of commodities intelligence. We provide the market with benchmark price assessments that are used in both physical commodity contracts and exchange-listed derivative contracts across the world.
Key Responsibilities:
Driving market coverage, reporting on daily physical trading activity as well as bids, offers and other relevant market information.
Identifying opportunities to refine assessment methodology and help launch new price assessments.
Contributing to/producing reports on time and to the required standard.
Attending industry events as well as face to face meetings to help drive market adoption, developing contacts, acquiring information and promoting the S&P Global Commodity Insights brand.
Building and managing a database of contacts.
Creating news stories and multi-media coverage.
Supporting the pricing team across different regions where required due to absences etc.
Collaborating with teams in other markets sectors or divisions, i.e., Analytics.
Your Skills:
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with a wide range of role types and personalities, internally and externally.
Strong numeracy skills including the ability to apply maths functions in Excel, as well as familiarity with Word and Powerpoint.
Self-starter mindset with effective problem-solving skills.
Superior organizational skills including time management; the ability to plan and deliver weekly products and to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of the agriculture sector or commodity markets generally an advantage.
Excellent writing skills to produce articulate and reliable reports.
Awareness of economic principles an advantage.
Well-honed secondary research and analytical skills with the ability to uncover unique insights.
Culturally and socially sensitive.
Qualifications:
BA degree or higher.
Strong command of written and spoken English.
Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
