Reporting to theProduction Manager , theAssociate Production Supervisorrole is responsible for directing the manufacturing operations performed in a shift or group of production lines, ensuring they reach volume, quality, and cost goals.
Additionally, responsible for reviewing daily/regularly plant operating performance, evaluating areas that may be impacting performance, and advising on changes in operating conditions that will improve efficiencies/quality.
What a typical day looks like:
Leads the production of several processes/lines in a highly technical environment and is responsible for the line's success.
Evaluates daily/regularly plant operating performance and advises on changes in operating conditions that will improve efficiencies and quality.
Leads a team of individual professionals (e.g., engineers/officers) to meet quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness requirements.
Troubleshoots and analyzes operational problems and advises on their resolution.
Guides regular discussions with operators to coach performance and improve operational understanding and capability.
Solicits and evaluates ideas for plant improvements and collaborates with qualified engineers to develop project proposals.
Provides technical and operational advice to project teams.
May act as principal interface between the operation team and the maintenance function.
Engages in training and coaching of junior operators.
Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply in order to meet customer requirements.
Initiates and participates in process development and cost improvement projects.
Assists in department budget planning and management of department expenses.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing individuals on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
Ensures compliance with manufacturing standards.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
Typically requires a Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in addition to at least 2 years of operations experience.
Ability to present information to top management and public groups.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
