• Partner with the regional and market business teams and regional IT domain heads and global BI team to define, document, implement and support the Regional BI Program that enables both business and IT strategies and objectives.
• Engage with Business stakeholders to understand and guide their requirements and ensure the BI solutions meet their analytical and reporting needs.
• Define the BI Architecture for the region in accordance with global guidelines.
• Data Presentation: Actively engage in the deployment of various data presentation technologies and Business Intelligence tools and ensure these are well integrated with underlying models.
• Analyze and in some cases reverse engineer existing data models, systematically understand current usage patterns, prototype and scientifically evaluate alternatives for improvement and quantitatively demonstrate the benefits of optimized data models.
• Assist application support in performance tuning on existing Data Warehouse databases and propose both short and long term solutions to address performance issues.
• Work with other teams on new BI project solution design and support business case development.
• Oversee implementation of data model designs during project execution and engage with development teams as necessary to ensure quality.
• Analyze data structures and existing usage patterns, including reverse engineering query SQL, optimize/re-design the data model as necessary.
• Data Integration: Deploy and use data integration tools (e.g. ETL) to implement best practice data acquisition, transformation, movement and delivery.
• Create, document, reconcile and maintain logical and physical data models, reflecting the state and use of data across the business.
• Capture, integrate and publish descriptive metadata across the various applications and tools (modelling, integration and more) in the environment.
• Data quality definition and management – analyze and measure data-quality levels, identify data quality issues; work with users and other IT functions to improve data quality.
• Ensure new BI applications integrate and comply with the BI architecture.
Job Requirements:
• Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• PMP or Prince 2 certification.
• At least 8+ years hands-on experience in BI and Data Warehouse design and delivery with successful implementation references, with at least 6 years in Data Modelling and/or Data Warehouse Development.
• Experience in an international context and culture.
• Previous experience as a consultant for a recognized system integrator or firm is a plus.
• Proven experience in applying Software Engineering best practices and techniques such as structured analysis, use cases and formal estimation.
• Proven experience in managing a team of technology professionals (that include in-house, external, off-shore resources) to run strategic IT projects.
• Essential to have strong understanding of Database concepts and competence in SQL.
• Essential to have understanding and experience with dimensional modelling concepts (star schema, slowly changing dimensions etc.).
• Working on the Microsoft BI Stack is essential (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI).
• Experience with other BI Tools and technologies (data modelling, data integration/ETL, reporting, metadata management, data quality management, data mining, corporate performance management etc.).
• Experienced in managing end-to-end project life cycles with local/regional/global stakeholders, across multiple countries.
• Experience in consumer goods, retail, hospitality or luxury retail is an advantage.#J-18808-Ljbffr
