As a Sourcing Engineer, you are required to : -
ResponsibilitiesDevelop appropriate business relationships with key suppliers / sources to implement a global strategy for competitive materials sourcing
Transfer of technical requirements between internal R&D and the Vendor
Take up the lead in clearing Material Specification - push the Project and be aware of the time plan
Work with supplier for FAIR submission before part delivery and participate in supplier and component qualifications and issues
Identify and implement contract and agreement compliance
Facilitate product/project transfer from business division to Penang Plant - Cost Reduction through Migration & Localization
Be the explainer for High complex mechanical and electrical Products
Act as point of escalation for component issues, as appropriate
Involves in Product Life Cycle (PLC)/NPI Projects of divisions
Explore & Develop quality supply base as well as Local Vendor Development
Key Driver on managing supplier relationship.
Ad-Hoc activities or projects task assigned by management
know how electro-mechanical assemblies are working and be able to discuss this internal and external
Review, compare and verify the quotations from suppliers to achieve a most competitive pricing
Identify the opportunity and work on the cost reduction (CR) for existing parts with suppliers and internal
Continuously drive PPV generation projects and secure continuous improvements and cost reductions
QualificationsDegree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with Good to have 3 years of experience in sourcing or related role.
Having mechanical knowledge on item such as CNC machining, sheet metal & plastic injection moulding;
Work on local & Global Supply base
Able to communicate with supplier for technical discussion
Develop a strategy to transfer complex PCB´s to local supplier, manage this with internal R&D
Good GD&T knowledge & able to interpret drawing
Must be very detail oriented and be able to efficiently organize information
Effective multitasking skills and the ability to take on additional responsibilities as required
Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment and professionalism.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance, exercising discretion and independent judgment.
Understanding of and ability to use continuous improvement tools.
Working knowledge of productivity tools, including Microsoft Office products and Team conferencing software
Proficient in MS Office, specifically with MS Excel
Experience working with MRP/ERP system ( SA{P Preferred)
