He/she is responsible for developing, managing, implementing, and monitoring internal and external communications and community investment programs, including media stakeholder engagement to build JTI's corporate reputation and to drive policy advocacy campaigns to internal and external audiences. Additionally, he/she is responsible for developing and maintaining the Company's media stakeholder network, monitoring media on all platforms, and delivering actionable insights to the Corporate Affairs and Communications Director. The role also supports both the Fiscal Affairs Manager and Regulatory Affairs Manager to place and amplify JTI's preferred fiscal and regulatory positions in the media.
Also responsible for appraising community investment proposals for JTI's participation as well as designing, implementing, monitoring, and appraising all community investment projects contributed or participated in by JTI, and leveraging them to build JTI's corporate reputation.
As the CA&C Manager in the area of Corporate Affairs & Communications Department, you will:
Develop, manage, and implement both external communications programs and community investment programs, including media stakeholder engagement.
Support the External Affairs Manager on strategic advocacy campaigns.
Monitor social, political, and legislative conversations across all media platforms (broadcast, print & online media) that will impact the Company's interests and provide management with relevant and actionable information to address arising issues.
Develop and maintain the media stakeholders network.
Provide media and engagement support to the Fiscal Affairs Manager and Regulatory Affairs Manager.
Requirements:
Degree in Social Sciences/Humanities/Arts. A post-graduate degree in any discipline is an added advantage.
Minimum 7 years either in (a) a similar role with a multinational FMCG company, or public relations consultancy, (b) media, or (c) policy research, advocacy or campaign role with any NGO.
Experience in designing and executing successful advocacy campaigns with a good understanding of the socio-political landscape and tools to deliver the Company's messages.
Experience in building corporate reputation through effective corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Experience in developing and drafting policy submissions is an added advantage.
Fluent in both English and Bahasa Malaysia (oral and written). Must be very articulate and well-spoken. Expert level of MS Office applications.
Analysis of statements and other contents in the media as input to JTI's advocacy campaigns.
Developing and executing communication campaigns and community investment programs in line with JTI's commercial objectives.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Project management: able to simultaneously work effectively on a wide range of projects and cross-functionally.
Sound knowledge and understanding of the nature and issues affecting the FMCG sector and industries that are highly regulated, with a strong grasp of JTI's preferred positions.
