Accounts Receivable/Credit Control (Accounting)

To lead a team to handle and administer accounts receivables for Corporate, Insurance, and self-pay accounts. To guide and ensure the team follows up on all collections to avoid possible bad debts. To understand and attend to all inquiries, and provide good guidance to the team to achieve their KPI. To ensure all documentation of corporate/insurance/self-pay invoices and supporting documents reach in time to the customer or patient. Ensure all reconciliation of bank statements/flywire/Ipay88 and other modes of payment.
Responsibilities
Lead team members to liaise with the insurance/corporate Person-In-Charge (PIC) to enhance the collection performance of the team.
Plan and motivate the team to follow up collection on all outstanding debts from the insurance account in the Insurance Ageing Report.
Ensure the team updates an up-to-date and systematic report, be it on paper or electronic on weekly and monthly collection activities for management review.
Evaluate and highlight potential uncollectible, slow payer, or difficult cases by providing updates to the management teams, customer care department, and legal department at once.
Attend to problematic self-pay customers and professionally liaise with them.
Negotiate and discuss with the problematic self-pay customers for the installment plan/outstanding settlement.
Generate deposit top-up reports and communicate with the team for the collection feedback.
Ensure patient adjustment forms are processed if applicable for purposes of administration discount, write-off, etc., according to standards and defined procedures.
Communicate and monitor the team on the performance of collection to the outstanding self-pay account in the Ageing Report.
Review the discount proposal from the team requested by the Patient/Customer Services Department before sending it to Management for approval.
Generate a relationship with the Insurance/TPA/MCO/Corporate Person-in-charge to enhance the team's outstanding collection status.
Proceed with account reconciliation with Insurance/TPA/MCO/Corporate Person-In-Charge to clear the long overdue outstanding.
Compile and communicate with the legal department on arranging cases to proceed with legal action.
Requirements
Degree in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent and Diploma in Accounting/Business Administration or equivalent.
Minimum 8-10 years working experience at a managerial level in credit control of a medium to large-sized organization.
Experienced in leading a team of 15-20 credit controllers (both self-pay & corporate collection teams).
Working knowledge of computerized systems for billing and registration.
Knowledge of hospital information systems and management of multiple customers would be an added advantage.
