Astar has partnered with a well-respected company on the hunt for their next Electrical Software Engineer. This company is transmission and propulsion systems for automotive OEM's and mobility providers globally.

Description: As an Electrical Software Engineer in the automotive gearbox OEM industry, you will be responsible for installation, wiring, commissioning, maintaining, optimizing and improving software solutions for continuous variable transmission (CVT) systems and other automotive production equipment. The role requires expertise in electrical engineering and automation, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and improve the performance of production line equipment. You will also be tasked with leading improvements in production efficiency and software structure for better system stability
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor/master's degree in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in an automotive or related manufacturing environment,particularly in automotive equipment engineering.Key Responsibilities:
Install, wire, commission, maintain, and improve CVT and auxiliary production equipment.Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) plans for production equipment to ensure consistent and efficient operation.Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical and software issues on production lines.Optimize the structure of embedded software to improve system operation and reliability.Collaborate with process engineers, production engineers, and other internal departments to resolve equipment issues and pressure air system maintenance.Plan spare parts requirements, manage their consumption, and ensure the availability of critical components.Lead or support project teams aimed at improving equipment efficiency and system performance.Develop and modify PLC programs (Siemens, Omron, etc.) for production systems.Prepare equipment manuals, conduct on-the-job training for technicians, and ensure team readiness for operations.Implement company-wide quality and environmental policies and ensure compliance.Work closely with internal teams (R&D, AS&S, purchasing, logistics) and external suppliers to support continuous improvements.Preferred Skills and Experience: Strong background in electrical design, automation, and manufacturing, especially in automotive systems.Hands-on experience in maintaining and troubleshooting production equipment in the automotive industry.Demonstrated ability to solve complex electrical and software issues on production lines.Proficient in electrical design and automation processes, with a strong understanding of automotive manufacturing and assembly.Strong working knowledge of Siemens and Omron PLC systems, including the ability to write and modify PLC programs, and knowledge of DCS systems and electrical cabinets.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to perform manual repairs and adjustments on production line equipment.Familiar with Malaysia standard safety and environmental regulations within a manufacturing setting.Possesses strong communication skill, with the ability to lead and collaborate with diverse teams.Experience or affinity in automotive gearbox systems or similar components.Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead a technical team in problem-solving and system improvements.Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, procurement, quality, logistics)for project management and system optimization.Offer: You will become part of a well-regarded company with a strong international focus in the demanding automotive OEM industry.We offer a dynamic work atmosphere, opportunities for internal growth, and the ability to enhance your skills in cutting-edge technologies.You'll be supported by motivated colleagues, enjoy a professional environment that encourages creativity and initiative, with streamlined communication.We provide a competitive salary package that includes various additional benefits.Seniority level: Mid-Level
