THE ROLE: NexantECA, the Energy and Chemicals Advisory company, seeks a Japanese speaking Consultant/Senior Consultant for an opportunity based in either our Bangkok, Thailand or Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia office. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of relevant industry and/or consulting experience in energy and chemicals, with a technical and commercial focus.
The work will cover technology, economics, and market analysis within a broad range of industries.
Key Responsibilities Participate in the execution, delivery and management of subscription reports and consultancy engagements. Conduct research on process technology trends, develop comparative economic models of capital and operating costs of industrial plants, and prepare detailed techno-economic studies and written reports. Conduct primary research to understand key industry issues and develop market balances and projections. Work closely with clients, prepare and deliver presentations, and assist in building strong client relationships. Work across a broad range of chemicals and energy sectors. Develop and broaden personal knowledge and capabilities. Meet internal quality, time and budget constraints. Provide supervision and support to other team members as appropriate and assist in training and development activities. Support business development and sales activities across Asia, including a specific focus on Japan Requirements Education & Qualifications: Bachelor's or master's degree in relevant industry discipline e.g., chemical engineering, chemistry, energy science or materials science Excellent standard of academic qualification. Skills & Experience: 5-10 years' relevant work experience in the energy and chemicals sector including 5 or more years in operations, business management, corporate planning, market research/planning or consulting. Hands-on experience of end-use applications and markets Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and process economics Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills for interacting with clients in English and Japanese. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as keen attention to detail Demonstrated leadership and management skills. Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft spreadsheets, word processing and presentation applications. Personal Qualities & Knowledge: Positive and flexible attitude to work particularly on new initiatives. Diplomatic in meeting and working with people, good cultural awareness.
