About the rolePress Metal Bintulu Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced and skilled Engineer to join our growing team in Bintulu, Sarawak. As an Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our mechanical engineering operations and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This is a full-time position based in Samalaju Industrial Park, Bintulu.
What you'll be doing
Oversee production floor and casting process (cooling process to solidify molten aluminum into desired shapes).
Inspect and ensure finished aluminum products meet the highest quality standards.
Coordinate marking, preparation, and storage of finished products for shipment to customers.
Implement and optimize operational processes in the cast house to enhance quality and efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production goals and customer requirements.
Design, develop, and test mechanical systems and components to meet production requirements.
Conduct performance evaluations and root cause analyses to identify and resolve technical issues.
Provide technical support and mentorship to production staff.
Maintain detailed documentation and records of all engineering activities.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar engineering role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
Proficiency in using engineering software and tools (e.g. CAD, FEA, PLM).
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
