JOB DESCRIPTION
Work assigned is not limited to the job scope listed below, may be assigned to another function based on the workload and requirement:
Prepare and maintain fund accounting records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, or other financial activities relating to investment instruments.
Prepare periodical investment reports and supporting information for the Management and investment departments.
Ensure proper maintenance of related investment data in the investment systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Fund Accounting and Investment Reporting
A. Fund Accounting
Perform accounting data reconciliation between General Ledger and EPF's Investment System.
Raise relevant manual journal vouchers for posting into the General Ledger, if necessary.
Prepare/check impairment assessment data/results for investment instruments.
Perform account closing activities, including preparation of supporting schedules and additional information for financial statement disclosures.
Prepare and update accounting entries; GL Mapping between the Investment System and Accounting System.
Ensure accounting data are in order and in line with accounting policy.
Check master data creation related to accounting in Investment System.
Perform accounting data interface tests for new products/securities and ensure they are accurate and in order.
Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures, initiating corrective actions as needed.
Liaise with the appointed Custodian Bank on matters relating to fund accounting.
Assist in the preparation and coordination of audits conducted by internal and external auditors.
B. Investment Reporting
Prepare/check monthly portfolio valuation and income reports.
Prepare/check monthly/quarterly supporting reports for the Management and regulators.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Malaysian citizen.
Pass the Malay Language including an oral test at the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent as recognised by the Government.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or other related qualifications which are recognised by the Government from any local or abroad higher learning institution including membership in the professional accounting bodies.
Preferably 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in the area of investment or fund accounting.
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Good experience in Microsoft Office (Words, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
Good analytical skills, meticulous and able to work independently.
Team player with strong communication and good interpersonal skills.
Results-oriented, fast-paced, resourceful and proactive.
Resilient and able to deliver under pressure.
