Position: Financial Controller
Basic Salary: RM 10,000 - RM 12,000 (Based on experience) Location: Muar (Candidates must be able to reliably commute or be willing to relocate prior to starting)
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Management: Lead and inspire the Hotel's Finance Department, providing hands-on leadership and direction to the finance team.Strategic Financial Planning: Participate in the development of Strategic Financial Business Plans and Annual Budgets.Financial Decision-Making: Offer strategic financial input for key decisions impacting the organization.System & Process Enhancement: Continuously update and enhance financial systems, processes, and controls for improved efficiency and governance.Policy & Procedure Development: Create and enforce financial policies, procedures, and strategies for the Hotel.Comprehensive Financial Management: Oversee forecasting, budgeting, cash flow, financial reporting, tax planning, and compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.External Liaison: Collaborate with auditors, tax consultants, statutory bodies, and bankers for audit, tax, and banking matters.Management Reporting: Prepare monthly financial management reports and analyses.Operational Control: Ensure robust accounting and operational controls to safeguard assets, optimize operations, and improve profitability.Team Development: Train, supervise, and develop team members within the department. Prerequisites Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), back-office/accounting systems, and hotel software or Property Management Systems.Communication & Negotiation: Strong skills in communication and negotiation.Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and Bahasa Melayu, both oral and written. Additional languages are a plus.Analytical & Financial Expertise: Excellent decision-making, analytical, and organizational skills, with a strong foundation in finance. Education & Experience Education: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent, or a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting or a related field.Experience: 5 to 10 years in financial and management roles, ideally in a 4/5-star hospitality environment.
