The Receptionist is the main point of contact between the hotel and the guests and is in charge of welcoming guests, checking guests in and out of the hotel and dealing with guest queries.
The Receptionist provides prompt and professional guest service to meet guest needs and ensure guest satisfaction.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:Welcome and greet guests upon entering the hotel
Answer and direct incoming calls
Listen and respond to guest queries and requests both in-person and by phone
Provide accurate information about the hotel, available rooms, rates, services and amenities
Handle reservations, bookings and cancellations
Manage check-in of guests, including registration, collection of deposits, and allocation of rooms and issuing of room keys
Manage check-out of guests, including reviewing accounts and charges with guests, issuing bills and processing accurate payment
Liaise with housekeeping to inform when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning, as well as to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fully-furnished before the next check-in
Maintain clear and accurate records of guest room bookings and payments
Respond to clients' complaints in a fast and professional manner and liaise with respective staff to address any problems or complaints made by guests
Dealing with special requests, such as room service, taxi bookings or wake-up calls
Provide accurate information about local transport, places of interest, eateries and entertainment
