Overview:
The Group GM, CLA role is part of the senior leadership team of CTOS Digital Berhad and shall provide leadership, strategic, and operational oversight on the Group's corporate legal affairs including businesses in Malaysia and overseas.
The incumbent shall be responsible for leading the transformation of the legal function to be recognized by stakeholders as a "Business Enabler" from both a strategic and operational perspective.
Oversight on all legal and regulatory matters for the Group including the Malaysian and overseas business operations.
Provide counsel and support to Board and Management on strategic corporate, business, and operational legal decisions.
Manage the legal team so that they are regarded as a Business Enabler with the ability to perform their function as a trusted adviser to the business and operational departments.
Identify and provide recommendations on potential compliance vulnerabilities and risks exposure in relation to related legislations, regulations, and policies/guidelines for the Group businesses and operations.
Attend to general/ad-hoc legal queries relating to the Group's business and operations.
Liaise and manage external legal advisers/solicitors (both local and international) on specialized or complex legal matters.
Other responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
Minimum Requirements:
Degree in Law LLB (Hons) from a recognized university.
More than 15 years of relevant experience, preferably from related industries with extensive corporate background.
Experience in dealing with government agencies and regulators, and understanding of banking laws, CRA Act, PDP Act, corporate-related laws such as Competition Act, MACC Section 17A is a big plus.
Ability to multi-task, work independently, and have a strong commitment to ensure corporate and legal compliance.
Fluent in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate complex matters to influence desired outcomes.
An expert in international business law with the ability to offer extensive legal advice and support to our operations in various countries across Asia.
