Key Responsibilities 1)Lead and develop team to provide corporate legal services for the company in Malaysia to promote and protect business interest in accordance with applicable corporate policies, procedures and applicable laws.
2)Provide guidance and leadership in the development of Legal Shared Services Team for Malaysia Group Companies 3)Review, vet and draft business contracts and legal documents, including supporting negotiations of business contracts.
4)Liaise with business functions and provide general legal support and sound advice to mitigate legal risks 5)Provide legal support and advice related to corporate projects such as business reorganisation 6)Ensure proper administration and management of contracts and legal documents 7)Assist in the management of potential legal disputes and litigation (includes monitoring the progress of litigation cases) 8)Provide assistance to personnel in charge of compliance in Group Companies in ensuring compliance 9)Assist and support compliance investigations 10)Liaise with solicitors, government departments and external parties on legal matters 11)Prepare and submit regular reporting of legal jobs 12)Carry out ad hoc related projects, assignments and administrative tasks as assigned and instructed by the immediate superior from time to time.
Key Requirements 1)Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) from a reputable university.
2)Certificate in Legal Practice or its equivalent.
3)Minimum 3-5 years post qualification experience handling litigation and corporate/commercial work in the manufacturing industry 4)Experience in labour, intellectual property and/or corporate secretarial matters are added advantage.
5)Proactive, resourceful, strong follow up and able to work independently and as a team.
6)Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work collaboratively with interdepartmental teams, stakeholders, and external counsels.
7)Possess good drafting and analytical skills 8)Strong command of written & spoken English and Bahasa Melayu 9)Self-Starter, creative, pro-active and enthusiastic.
10)Computer literate in Microsoft Office (including Powerpoint and Excel).
11)High ethical standards and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
12) Required to rotate working premises between different locations in Shah Alam.
