Summary of the Job Scope:
Procure material that meets Hershey's specifications and supports production schedules with the most favorable prices through comprehending marketing intelligence, selecting appropriate suppliers, negotiating competitive prices, and generating & implementing saving projects.
MATERIAL PROCUREMENTEnsure all sourcing is conducted in compliance with Hershey Global Procurement Policy with proper documentation, processes, and meet company systems requirements.
Source competitively and review costs regularly.
Negotiate with suppliers for the most competitive price and monitor pricing movement.
Contribute to cost-saving project generation and implementation to improve product competition.
Achieve cost reduction/avoidance targets.
Support Innovation Project Development.
Assist internal customers in identifying requirements and specifications, gather documents, and provide support to facilitate progress during the development stage as well as ensure the availability of products.
SUPPLIER MANAGEMENTManage, assess, and evaluate suppliers and provide periodic supplier performance reports.
Maintain good business relationships with suppliers in accordance with Hershey Core values.
Own supplier management for secondary and tertiary packaging.
Ensure concise communication between Hershey teams and suppliers, including but not limited to Hershey requirements, feedback, timelines, and follow up proactively to drive results.
Evaluate supplier performance through scorecards and annual performance reviews, provide frequent feedback to suppliers, and monitor for improvement on Scorecard results.
Conduct periodic risk assessments to avoid supply security issues and price increase issues.
SYSTEM WORK, DATA & REPORT MANAGEMENTEnsure accurate data records, analysis, and reporting.
Use SAP, PLM, and other Hershey-provided tools to maintain and validate purchase information.
Evaluate and analyze Purchase Price Variance.
Update purchasing records or contract pricing and documentation.
Provide accurate records and analytical reports, including but not limited to spend reports and CI Reports.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
Minimum 2 years of progressive business experience with 1+ years of procurement experience.
Experience in sourcing raw ingredients for the food industry is preferred.
Knowledge of purchasing principles/techniques, sourcing skills, and inventory analysis and control.
Knowledge in conducting RFQ/RFP bidding exercises, and negotiation skills.
Ability to collaborate with internal departments, seek common ground, and establish alignment on common goals.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
), familiarity with SAP is preferred.
