Job Description Role summary The Supervisor of Intercompany will staff and manage the GFS intercompany accounting function. They will ensure end to end intercompany transactions are performed timely and accurately.
They will ensure monthly intercompany sub-ledger close and other reporting occurs timely and with no significant errors or omissions. They will manage the account reconciliation process so that intercompany reconciliations are timely and accurate.
They are responsible for assisting with integrations/ divestments into the GFS, identifying efficiency improvements, assisting with process improvement initiatives, maintaining performance metrics, and assisting with global initiatives, as needed.
Work that matters - What you'll be doing: Staffs and manages the intercompany function, which includes end to end intercompany process, monthly close, intercompany account reconciliations, customer service, audit requests, and BU and Corporate requests.
Ensure team members maintain an up-to-date and accurate documentation of all location accounting processes.
Own the sub-ledger monthly closing process: Handle and monitor all related parties (intercompany & joint venture) transactions, accounting, confirmations, and reconciliations.
The process must be completely timely and at a high level of accuracy for regions covered ie.
APAC, UK&I, EMEA, US &3Cs and LATAM.
Ensure the team record intercompany journal entries to clear intercompany transactions with other intercompany entities and maintain intercompany accounts on monthly basis.
Responsible for the monitoring of Aging Intercompany accounts included Receivables, Payables, Recharges, Clearing and intercompany loan and handling issues related thereto.
Resolve Intercompany Accounting related issues and disputes or escalate as required.
Act as escalation point for any issues involving month end, quarter, year-end close.
Monitor and manage issues, escalations and/or exceptional handling requests.
Critical support for audit assignment by reviewing audit confirmation letter and related party disclosure (RPT) etc.
Internal support to various stakeholders – Group Reporting team, Tax & Transfer Pricing team in preparing annual intercompany transaction analysis.
Effective communication with internal and external functional module eg Receivables, Payables, General Ledger, Cash Application team, Country Controllers, FBP etc.
Migration of newly task from Global region to achieve work centralisation in KL GFS.
Work closely with Global process owners and drive regional and global process improvement and standardization.
Understand and ensure compliance with Experian policies and be the first line of defense/ Gatekeeper of the books.
Provides coaching and mentoring to team members, manage day-to-day operation and month end close to ensure deadlines and deliverables are submitted accurately and on time, advising team on any matters arising from IC.
Act as a role model to instill a robust culture of knowledge sharing and working together, implementing clear metrics to measure success of the team.
Responsible in resource planning, recruitment and training, employee engagement and development, performance reviews and appraisals, and succession planning.
Provide support to internal & external Audit process and in accordance to accounting standard.
Ensure compliance with all requirements encompassing data integrity and evidence of process and accuracy, company policy included Global Intercompany Policy, Transfer Pricing Policy, and Global Journal Policy. Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by senior manager to meet financial reporting requirements and/or other projects.
Respond/ handle ad-hoc requests/ divestments/ acquisitions in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications More about you: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience is required.
A minimum of 5 years related experience is required.
Strong experience in leading large diverse teams.
Experience in a Shared Service Center is a plus.
Proven track record of intercompany and general ledger experience as a supervisor or Team Lead.
Proven track record of relationship building with other areas of Finance.
Proven track record of setting and achieving goals by defining and prioritizing specific objectives.
Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals and ability to identify risk areas in reviews required and action upon, else escalate to manager.
A strong and passionate mentor with patience and good coaching skills, with the ability to positively influence and drive the team to elevate to the next level.
Good communicator, confident in interacting with all levels of individuals across a variety of internal functions (remote or on site) with excellent interpersonal skill to build relationships with a range of stakeholders.
Ability to effectively manage time and resources against agreed deadlines, with ability to work independently.
