Overall responsibilities The Laundry Manager is responsible for managing daily operations in a laundry facility, including staff supervision and training, equipment maintenance, quality control, and inventory management. This role ensures that laundry services meet high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Oversee daily laundry operations to ensure efficiency and quality.Maintain workflow and optimize processes for maximum productivity.Supervise the timely pickup, cleaning, pressing, and delivery of hotel linens, uniforms, and guest clothing to achieve business plan goals and objectives.Anticipate demand, manage production, and ensure the availability of necessary chemicals and supplies.Implement quality assurance protocols to ensure cleanliness and safety standards.Conduct regular inspections of laundered items for quality assurance.Address customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.Manage inventory of laundry supplies and chemicals, ordering supplies as needed and maintaining cost-effective inventory levels.Oversee the maintenance and repair of laundry equipment.Schedule regular maintenance checks and troubleshoot equipment issues.Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.Train staff on safe handling of chemicals and equipment.Recruit, train, and supervise laundry staff.Schedule shifts and manage employee performance.Foster a positive work environment and resolve personnel issues. Hold pre-shift meetings to ensure the laundry team is informed about the day's tasks, safety protocols, and any other relevant information to facilitate smooth operations. Requirements Minimum Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia.Preferably diploma or degree hospitality management, business administration, or a related field.Minimum of 7 years of experience in laundry operations, preferably in housekeeping and laundry management in hotel industry, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role.Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.Strong leadership skills and ability to lead and motivate a team.Proficient understanding of laundry processes, equipment, and best practices.Knowledge of laundry machinery, cleaning chemicals and safety protocols. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills for effective team management and customer service.Adequate computer skills for inventory management and reporting. Candidate must be willing to work in Langkawi.
