Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Lead, Category Management to be based in foodpanda Malaysia, at Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur.
This role will be reporting into Head, Category Management in the Q-commerce team.
The Category Management team oversees the strategic planning, development, and execution of product categories within the foodpanda groceries business.
You will wear many hats and meticulously plan to scale the Singapore pandamart business.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Act as the 'business owner' across different allocated categories, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact the foodpanda businessOwnership of team OKRs including key metrics such as Topline, Margins, NMR and shrinkageMust develop and execute optimal category strategy, pricing, promotions, range, availability, and cost prices to expand both sales and marginEnsure foodpanda categories has the optimal selection and strategically competitive prices in the market through local and international sourcingSource and build strong supplier base to negotiate terms improvement, secure supplier advertising spend, and ensure a reliable and operationally effective flow of goodsWork to develop new sourcing and extended range to ensure we have high quality, good value goods available to our customers year-roundEnsure progress on Private Label & Imports (For Grocery & Non-Food Categories)Employ data-driven decision making to drive the category while working closely with marketing and supply chain to forecast demand and ensure consistent supplyPartner with supply chain team to manage inventory levels and wastageWork cross functionally with Product, Supply Chain, Sales Operations and Marketing to deliver strategic projectsConduct regular business reviews & JBPs with key AAA suppliersDeep dive into categories to understand best and worst practices and subsequently develop and execute short and long term strategies to drive category performanceCollaborate with various stakeholders to ensure OKRs are metLead and develop the team to ensure excellence in execution, to develop people skills & career development QualificationsAround 8 years experience or more in merchandising or buying and category managementKnowledge in E-commerce is a plusSuperb business judgment with a track record of successful negotiations and overall relationship management (both internal and external)Ability to work autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment, with strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skillsExpertise in interpreting data and providing strategic recommendationsFluency in English (our corporate language) and strong communication skillsEfficiency in using Google Workspace is a plus while mastery in using Microsoft Office is preferred
