Assist senior executives in formulating and developing a long term business strategy.
Develop annual business plans and organisation wide corporate scorecards.
Develop and execute strategic initiatives (including financial inclusion programmes) that will grow the business and avail measurable results, working in close partnership with senior stakeholders.
Drive and project manage the execution - including setting and tracking organisational milestones to achieve annual business plans, strategic initiatives and corporate scorecards.
Define key metrics that align with business drivers and analytical support for performance management.
The Day-to-day Activities
Develop insights on the market, competitive and regulatory environment that will form critical inputs into broader strategic decision making for the business.
Develop a deep understanding of growth, efficiency and cost drivers for the business.
Develop short-term and long-term performance goals for the business.
Partner with the leadership team to communicate strategy objectives.
Support teams at various stages; for example, providing a fact base, structuring complex problems to identify key issues and advising on the practicalities of implementation or leading actual execution.
Own a functional day-to-day responsibility typical in a strategy function while applying expertise to drive 1 or 2 high impact 'build the business' projects.
Review and refresh the overall business cases to ensure alignment with management expectations and forecasts.
Qualifications
A degree with good honours from a top tier university. MBA from a top-tier university will be a bonus.
Highly proficient in quantitative analyses and complex financial modelling - You enjoy absorbing large amounts of data and qualitative insights and can quickly develop a strong narrative that leads to recommendations and builds our understanding of the business.
Structured thought process and a strong analytical ability, and with some experience with operational execution.
Strong presentation and communication skills for senior executives.
At least 6-8 years of work experience. Prior experience in financial services or banking will be a bonus.
Highly comfortable in a semi-structured environment and organisation that changes frequently.
A self-starter and independent learner who takes the initiative to challenge the status quo.
Ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Entrepreneurship experience would be a bonus.
