About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity in our Property Legal team here at the Just Group. Reporting into the General Manager - Property Legal, the primary focus of the Leasing Paralegal is to manage the end to end process of leasing administration – from preparing and settling legal documents, supporting the negotiation process of standard terms and assisting with ad hoc legal projects within the wider Property team. This role is part-time (4 days per week) with the potential to be full-time, based at our support office on St Kilda Rd, Melbourne.
Responsibilities
Processing legal documents from landlords and solicitors
Ensuring documents from landlords are accurate
Liaising with property Legal team, preparing contract approval terms
Comparing legal documents with national standards
Maintaining and updating database in relation to all new leases, relocations, expansions and lease renewals
Reporting on a range of property related issues
Liaising with Store Development team on handover dates, store open dates
Reporting and tracking lease negotiations, maintain spreadsheets and databases
Skills & Experience
Either currently studying or completed a Bachelor of Laws
Experience working as a legal secretary or property paralegal
Exposure to commercial and or retail leasing
Solid working knowledge of leasing and related agreements
Ability to manage lease negotiation process would be ideal but not a requirement
