Job Description NIQ is seeking a dynamic and experienced lawyer with 6 to 8 years of post-qualification experience to join our in-house legal team as Legal Counsel for the Asia Pacific region.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, diverse region, providing legal support across a wide range of matters.
The role will focus primarily on Southeast Asia, Korea, and Japan, while also supporting other markets as needed.
Key responsibilities: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including Master Services Agreements, License Agreements, and Non-Disclosure Agreements, in line with global standards.
Advise on a range of legal matters, including disputes, employment law, corporate governance, and day-to-day legal inquiries from NielsenIQ's operations in the Asia Pacific region.
Manage external counsel for litigation and dispute resolution, providing strategic oversight and ensuring effective evidence procurement.
Support internal functions like HR and Finance with timely, practical legal advice, ensuring compliance with privacy laws and data protection regulations, including PDPA and GDPR.
Independently manage a high-volume workload, prioritizing tasks and knowing when to escalate complex issues to the Chief Regional Counsel or relevant business leaders.
Qualifications 6-8 years of post-qualification experience in both law firm and corporate environments, preferably with a multinational company.
Strong knowledge of contract law, licensing, company law, privacy law, and intellectual property, with experience drafting agreements and adapting templates for new business models.
Understanding of corporate governance frameworks and the ability to apply internal policies and codes to various legal matters.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English (written and verbal).
Proficiency in Korean or Japanese is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
