Legal Officer/Assistant

Details of the offer

Responsibilities: To provide legal support services in the Company's legal matters for the smooth operation for the legal functions of the Company and its subsidiaries with emphasis on corporate matters.Assist the Legal Manager in handling legal matters related to claims and suits made against the Company, ensure compliance with statutory requirements and update on current legislation, liaise with external lawyers on company's legal matters etc.Review, draft and vet all legal documents to ensure a consistent approach and minimize legal risk.Liaise with external lawyers, clients, or other relevant government authorities on the company's legal matters.Prepare, review cause papers, and participate in the discussions with internal departments on formulation of strategy/game plan to resolve and / or do damage control on ongoing litigation/tribunal.Attending tribunal cases and court hearings/trials as company's representativeAttending to ad-hoc matters as and when required. Requirements: Minimum Degree in Law or equivalent with relevant experience in a legal firm or corporate sector with exposure in conveyancing matters, preferably 3 to 4 years experience.Good drafting skills (agreements, contracts, legal correspondences and etc.) would be an added advantage.Have good analytical skills.Possesses good knowledge in land law/Housing Development (Control and Licensing) Act and any other relevant Acts.Possesses good negotiation skills.Fair experience in litigation/court is an advantage but not compulsory.High sense of responsibility.Good interpersonal and communication skills.To liaise/monitor/instruct external solicitors.Able to attend meetings (internally/externally), attend court as an observer, and attend and represent the group at all Tribunals hearings.Those previously called to the Bar will be given priority.
