Responsibilities:Draft, review, and vet contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Maintain the accuracy and completeness of legal documents and ensure timely submissions.
Provide expert legal advice on matters including employment law, corporate compliance, and contractual obligations.
Interpret and advise on the implications of laws, regulations, and policies affecting the organisation.
Corporate GovernanceAssist in ensuring compliance with corporate governance standards, laws, and regulations.
Support the implementation and monitoring of governance frameworks, including policies and procedures to enhance organisational transparency and accountability.
Coordinate with the Board of Directors and relevant committees to prepare and review governance-related documents, such as board papers, resolutions, and charters.
Compliance Monitoring and SupervisionMonitor and supervise legal and regulatory compliance across the organisation.
Oversee ongoing legal cases, liaising with external counsel and regulatory bodies as necessary.
Keep abreast of legal and governance developments and ensure timely updates to policies and procedures.
Correspondence and CommunicationPrepare and review legal correspondence, ensuring it aligns with organisational standards and objectives.
Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders on legal and governance matters.
Administrative SupportProvide administrative assistance to the GMD and COO, including maintaining records of legal and governance documentation.
Coordinate meetings, prepare reports, and track progress on legal and governance tasks.
Job Requirement:Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent qualification.
A valid practicing certificate or admission to the Malaysian Bar is preferred.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in legal and/or governance roles, preferably in a corporate environment.
Prior experience in corporate governance, compliance, or providing legal support to senior management is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of Malaysian legal frameworks, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in legal drafting, corporate governance frameworks, and risk management.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a keen eye for detail.
High proficiency in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Detail-oriented, analytical, and solution-focused.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
