The Linux System Administrator is mainly focused on a support role where you are responsible for providing Level 1 and Level 2 support for Linux-based systems, resolving system issues, monitoring performance, applying updates, managing user accounts, and ensuring backups.
You will perform routine maintenance, document resolutions, and escalate complex problems while collaborating with IT teams to maintain secure, stable, and efficient Linux-based systems.
Job Responsibilities:
Deliver Level 1 and Level 2 support for Linux-based systems, addressing user-reported issues and system inquiries.
Diagnose and resolve system performance problems, configuration errors, and software or hardware-related faults.
Regularly check server performance, critical services (e.g., DNS, SSH), and log files to identify and resolve issues proactively.
Ensure Linux systems are up-to-date with the latest patches and security updates, maintaining system stability.
Handle user account creation, modification, deletion, and resolve access-related issues like password resets.
Verify backups, address backup failures, and assist with data recovery when required.
Perform scheduled system checks, disk space management, and system cleanup tasks.
Maintain clear documentation of recurring issues, resolutions, and troubleshooting guides for future reference.
Forward unresolved or advanced technical problems to senior administrators or relevant teams.
Work closely with other IT teams to support cross-functional systems and ensure seamless IT operations.
Job RequirementsAt least possess a diploma or bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
At least 2 to 4 years in a Linux support or helpdesk environment.
Proficiency in Linux command-line tools and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with system monitoring tools.
Have an understanding of networking (e.g., IP, DNS, SSH).
Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
Good customer service skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work with schedules and deadlines.
Able to work in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.#J-18808-Ljbffr
