Job Description:
As a Management Accountantspecializing in costing,you will play a pivotal role in analyzing financial data, developing cost structures, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate cost accounting, enhance financial efficiency, and contribute to achieving the company's financial goals.
This role also requires flexibility to handle ad-hoc responsibilities, providing financial insights and support for urgent or unique projects, and responding to the evolving needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Analysis & Reporting:
Develop and maintain cost models to accurately calculate product, project, or service costs.
Analyze cost variances and provide actionable recommendations to improve cost efficiency.
Prepare detailed cost reports and forecasts for management.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of budgets and cost forecasts.
Monitor and report on financial performance against budgets and targets.
Ad-Hoc Financial Support:
Respond to urgent or unplanned requests for financial analysis and reporting.
Provide cost insights and data for ad-hoc projects, business cases, and decision-making processes.
Support management with tailored financial advice for specific challenges or opportunities.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across the organization.
Streamline costing processes and enhance the accuracy of cost tracking.
Collaboration:
Work closely with operational and production teams to ensure alignment of cost strategies.
Support management with financial data for pricing decisions, project evaluations, and strategic planning.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure compliance with relevant Australian accounting standards and regulations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA/CA or equivalent certification(preferred).
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in management accounting, with a focus on costing.
Experience in (specific industry, e.g., manufacturing, logistics, or services) is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in financial and ERP software (e.g., SAP, MYOB, or Xero).
Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and modeling.
