JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (SUMMARY) Provide legal advice, services and legal solutions to the Company and support functions in a proactive and timely manner.
JOB DESCRIPTION Ensure legal documents and other contracts are effectively drafted, reviewed and completed in a timely manner in compliance with the law.Active and direct participation in negotiation of contracts, management of dispute resolution and able to identify legal implications of business strategies.Ensure the Company's total compliance with the law, internal policies and standing instructions.Adherence to good corporate governance and other regulatory requirements.Prepare documents such as correspondence, reports, resolutions and minutes of meeting; make arrangements for internal and external meetings of which to include but not limited to Board of Trustees Meeting, Meeting for Majlis Kemakmuran Bumiputera, all Committee meetings established thereon and all related meeting (as the case may be) ("Meeting"), ensuring that meeting papers are in acceptable form before they are circulated to the Meeting members.Proofreads and corrects prepared materials for correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, format, syntax and content.Makes recommendations to improve the efficiency of existing operations.Liaising with other staff, transmitting directives, instructions, and assignments, following up on the status of the assignments and collating the information. Provide company secretarial advice and support as and when required.Conduct specific legal research and compiling legal material as and when necessary. Assume the role of document controller and manage and maintain records management filing system/database for legal and company secretarial matters and documents in accordance with Legal & Secretarial SOP. Assume the responsibility for other relevant tasks as assigned by the Management from time to time. Requirements Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Law, Secretarial or equivalent.At least 10 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.Experienced in various legal issues including commercial contracts, dispute resolution, government funding, regulatory, employment & governance.Possess in-depth knowledge of Companies Act and Regulations.Preferably Senior Executives/Managers specializing in Law/Legal Services or equivalent.Proactively employs strategic and critical thinking in solving issues and challenges- exhibit sound, practical judgment.Action-oriented, independent, self-motivated and highly driven.Creative thinker and able to work as a member of multi-disciplinary team.Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively to meet deadlines.Ability to grasp complex areas of law rapidly and accurately.Excellent written & verbal communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
