Job Title: Mechanical DesignEngineer Purpose ofPost:The Mechanical Design Engineerholds the critical responsibility of identifying materialsnecessary for the construction of development vehicles andcompiling comprehensive information for dissemination throughoutthe company. The primary objective is to ensure vehicles areconstructed according to customer specifications within strict timeconstraints, while also providing support to Customcare andmaintaining effective communication across alldepartments.
KeyTasks: 1. Produce, issue, andmanage accurate bills of material using the Sage MRP system.
2. Generate, distribute, and oversee information as requiredfor project needs.3. Maintain detailed drawing historyrecords and hard copies.4. Document all relevantinformation thoroughly throughout the planning process.
5. Collaborate closely with production teams to ensurevehicles are built to precise specifications.6. Ensurecontracts are completed punctually by exerting maximumeffort.7. Source necessary materials and technology asrequired for project demands.8. Maintain comprehensivesupplier and material records to facilitate efficient procurementprocesses.9. Develop and design product options inalignment with customer specifications.10. Create Creomodels, components, and assemblies for vehicle structuralcomponents.11. Convert Creo assemblies and componentsinto engineering drawings suitable for manufacturing.
12. Generate build drawings, workshop procedures, and recordmodifications/improvements during development builds.
13. Produce high-quality engineering reports in Englishlanguage.14. Undertake any additional duties necessaryfor the effective operation of the role.
Job Requirements: 1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relatedfield.2. Proven 2 years experience in product designand development, particularly in the automotive industry.
3. Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Creo, for 3Dmodeling and engineering drawings.4. Thoroughunderstanding of materials and manufacturing processes.
5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written,with the ability to liaise effectively across departments.
6. Detail-oriented with a strong ability to maintain accuraterecords and documentation.7. Capability to work underpressure and adhere to strict deadlines.8. Proactiveproblem-solving skills and adaptability to changing projectrequirements.9. Familiarity with project managementprinciples and practices.10.
