Responsibilities:Compile and understand requirements for custom designs, modifications, enhancements and upgrading of trenchless machineries.Design and develop mechanical, hydraulic and electromechanical systems for the trenchless industry, considering factors such as performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.Conduct feasibility studies and analysis to evaluate the viability of new system designs and propose improvements to existing systems.Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for the manufacturing and assembly of mechanical components and systems.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, manufacturing engineers, and field technicians, to ensure seamless integration and functionality of designs.Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and regulatory requirements related to trenchless technologies and apply them to design processes.Work closely with construction teams to develop construction methodologies for trenchless projects, providing technical input and guidance.Conduct testing and validation of prototypes or new designs to ensure they meet performance and safety requirements.Support the manufacturing process by providing guidance and clarification to the production team during the fabrication and assembly of designed systems.Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source components, evaluate technical specifications, and ensure quality standards are met. Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is a must. Advanced degree is a plus.Proven experience in mechanical design.Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc) for creating detailed engineering drawings and models.Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and present technical information clearly and concisely.Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality designs and documentation.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work efficiently under deadlines. Familiarity with electromechanical systems and their integration into mechanical designs.Understanding of construction methodologies and techniques used in the trenchless industry (e.g., directional drilling, pipe bursting, microtunneling).Experience with structural analysis and simulation software is desirable.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and propose innovative solutions.Reverse Engineering.
