Mechanical & Electrical Manager / Senior EngineerManage all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) aspects of industrial construction projects, ensuring all systems (HVAC, piping, electrical) are designed, installed, and commissioned correctly.
Supervise M&E teams on-site and ensure that the work meets the required safety, quality, and performance standards.
End-to-End Project Management: Lead and manage M&E activities throughout the project lifecycle, from planning, procurement, and design to installation, testing, and commissioning.
Ensure the timely delivery of M&E systems, coordinating with other departments and contractors to meet overall project milestones.
Maintain effective communication with the client, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure M&E systems align with project specifications and expectations.
Address any technical challenges or issues that arise on-site and find appropriate solutions.
Lead the M&E team, providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, and ensuring efficient resource allocation.
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure all necessary materials and equipment are available for timely project completion.
Monitor M&E project budgets and timelines, ensuring projects are completed within financial and schedule constraints.
Ensure quality control procedures are adhered to and that any defects are addressed promptly.
Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols on-site, ensuring compliance with local building regulations and safety standards.
Ensure all M&E installations comply with relevant codes and regulations.
Provide regular progress updates and reports to senior management, highlighting any potential risks or delays.
Maintain accurate records of M&E works, including testing, commissioning, and completion documentation.
Requirements:
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical (preferred), electrical or other related engineering discipline.
Minimum 8 years of M&E project management experience, with a strong background in local Malaysian construction projects.
Proven experience managing end-to-end M&E processes in industrial building projects.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, with additional experience in piping or electrical systems being an advantage.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other M&E design and management software.
Strong understanding of local building codes and regulations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage and motivate a team, with a strong focus on efficiency and quality.
Client-focused with a proactive approach to managing client relationships.
Willing to relocate by following projects.
