About The Role
As aNetwork Engineerin our brand newRegional Hub / Shared Services Centre (SSC)inMid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur,you will have the opportunity to play a role in designing, implementing, monitoring and managing the local and wide area networks of an organization to ensure maximum uptime for users.
The role can include designing system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary.
Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including firewalls, routers, proxy servers, switches, access points, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP etc
Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
Arranging scheduled upgrades
Investigating faults in the network
Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
Reporting network status to key stakeholders
Participate with cyber security activities like PEN testing, awareness trainings etc
In this role you will be collaborating with various stakeholders across the business including our Global functions teams in Netherlands & other parts of the world.
Our Regional Hub supports a hybrid working approach.
You will be supporting markets in multiple time zones and some flexibility around working hours will be needed.
You will be joining a newly formed Shared Services Centre team, with opportunities to grow, within Infrastructure or wider IT functions.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
5 – 7 years of Networking experience, or equivalent applicable work experience
Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Windows operating systems for desktop & laptops, Microsoft Windows Servers and Active Directory
Language
Good written and spoken English is essential
A proficiency in Japanese, Korean and/or Thai as well as other Asian languages will be an added advantage, however not mandatory
Qualification / Education
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology / Computer Science, or a related field
