Duties and Responsibilities
Critically analyse cases based on available information, determine the applicable sections of the Legal Profession Act 1976 and devise intervention strategies on a case-to-case basis.Conduct thorough research and articulate findings to craft memorandums, opinions, letters and notices in clear and precise terms.Prepare reports, letters, and opinions.Supervise, manage, and monitor supporting staff.Attend to enquiries regarding disciplinary process and complaints.Draft various materials and attend to correspondences.Review cause papers for cases of appeal and reinstatement.Staying informed of the changes in the lawConduct disciplinary hearings before the Disciplinary Committee of the Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Board.Maintain database and update records on various complaints processes.Liaise with external solicitors and any third parties.Perform general clerical duties, including photocopying, faxing, mailing and filing.Handle all other matters as directed by the management. Requirements:
Possess an LLB (Hons) degree with at least one (1) year post-admission experience.Must be an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.Experienced in preparing briefs for Court matters.Proficient in legal research, analysis, and legal writing.Able to prioritise and schedule work based on urgency and importance.Attend to intervention cases onsite in Klang Valley and outstation.Well-organised, able to multitask and manage time efficiently, and capable of producing detailed and accurate work under tight deadlines.Must be able to exercise a high degree of independent judgment and initiative. Proactive in identifying and managing risks in line with best practice.Self-motivated, dedicated, and able to work independently in a challenging environment with minimal supervision, yet be a team player. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Proficient in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. Knowledge of additional languages such as Mandarin (or other Chinese dialects) and Tamil is an added advantage. Possess a high level of computer literacy, including proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications. Able to travel outstation to attend to cases when required. The successful candidate can expect a competitive remuneration package based on his/her qualifications and level of experience.
