To ensure Business functions' policies and procedures are in compliance with the relevant regulations and internal standards through compliance assessments and reviews. To provide support in compliance programs, policies and procedures and provision of proper guidance/advice to ensure that the Business Functions conduct their business operations ethically and in accordance with applicable local laws, regulations, guidelines and Group compliance standards. To conduct other compliance activities such as advisory, projects, reporting and BAU.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:Conduct compliance reviews in accordance with the Annual Compliance Plan.
Follow-up on issues identified in compliance review to closure ensuring the appropriate corrective actions are implemented within agreed timeline. Verify the corrective actions for adequacy and appropriateness prior to closure.
Conduct ad-hoc reviews as may be assigned from time to time.
Monitor and manage regulatory changes.
Assist with the roll out of Regulatory Requirement Self-Assessment (RRSA).
Support other activities of the team which could be assigned when the need arises: incident management, compliance training, regulatory liaison/examination, compliance reporting, compliance advisor in major initiatives or projects of the Company.
Job Specification:a. Qualifications:Candidate must possess at least a bachelor's degree or professional qualification in Finance/Accounting/Business Administration/Internal Audit or other related fields.
b. Experience:At least 5 years of related working experience; proven understanding in Compliance or Auditing function would be an advantage.
Knowledge/Skills:Proven expertise in audit/review process and methodology. Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia required to have good written communication skills. Knowledge of insurance, banking, asset management or other related financial services operations. Good knowledge and understanding of compliance principles, best ethical practices and regulatory guidelines governing the insurance industry or other related financial services. Ability to plan and execute reviews, solve problems, and possess analytical and critical thinking skills.
