Payroll Assistant Manager/Manager

We are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll & HR Operations Specialist to lead and support our payroll team.
This is a key role within HR operations, where you will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end payroll processing and guiding a team of 2-3 junior members.Key Responsibilities:
Lead Payroll Processing:Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees, including expenses claims, overtime for shift workers, locum and independent contractor payments, in full compliance with Malaysia's tax and labor laws.
Team Leadership & Guidance:Support and mentor junior team members, ensuring they maintain accurate employee data and payroll records within the in-house system.
Payroll Reporting & Tax Filings:Lead the preparation of payroll reports, payroll journals, and tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
Policy & Documentation Review:Review HR letters and templates, ensuring alignment with company policies and statutory requirements.
Audit Leadership:Manage and lead payroll and HR operations-related audits, ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Employee Support:Provide operational and administrative support for employee benefits and HR-related matters, addressing employee queries promptly and proactively resolving recurring issues.
Regulatory Compliance:Stay updated on changes to payroll regulations, ensuring the payroll system is in full compliance with new laws and regulations.
Requirements:
Education:Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or related field.
Experience:Minimum of 5 years in payroll and HR operations, with proven experience managing payroll for 500+ employees and leading a team.
Expertise in Payroll Law:Strong knowledge of employment law as it relates to payroll, including public holidays, overtime payouts, and other related aspects.
System & Tech Savvy:Experience with payroll systems, and an advantage if you have prior experience with payroll system migrations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office:Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential.
