SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS : 1. Responsible for overall performance of the production in meeting the defined targets, in line with the department's goals and objectives.
2. To assist to manage the production activities to achieve optimum productivity, cost, quality, safety, inventory, timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
3. To assist to implement actions to improve quality, yield, process stability, housekeeping and production section via process simplification and optimization.
4. Read and interpret technical drawings; confer with engineers or other relevant parties to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions and provide technical information.
5. Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
6. Manage machinist(s) to meet tool maintenance/modification schedules.
7. Responsible for running the Equipment/Engineering/Tooling section.
8. Responsible for all tooling modification. Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
9. Responsible for maintenance and trouble shooting of in-house tooling system.
10. To coordinate and ensure proper set-up, operation as well as implement process changes and participate in Quality / Yield Improvement activities when necessary.
11. Responsible for modification to improve performance/efficiency of stamping, plating, backend and assembly tools.
12. Work closely with manufacturing team from design stage to mass production to maintain quality and scheduling standards.
13. Design and drafting of stamping, plating, backend and assembly tools. Conduct research and modifying of existing tools including drafting to improve yield, productivity and cost.
14. To supervise operations of all aspects of Tool Room overall preparation.
15. Establish and maintain Tool Room operation to ensure good tools issuance to production floor.
16. To participate in daily problem solving in the production floor related to stamping, plating, backend and assembly tools.
17. Conduct in-depth analysis on the tool failure and issuance of Failure Report.
18. To review new product (NPI) and participate in the FAI run with production.
19. Liaise with In-House tool maker on scheduling and completion of tools. Ensure CNC machines are well maintained and the operation is adhered to safety rules and regulation.
20. Liaise with external Tool vendors regarding out sourcing of stamping, plating, backend and assembly tools.
21. To manage projects and meet target/objective.
22. Participate in customer / vendor audit and internal audit.
23. To lead, coach and motivate subordinates in their skill / knowledge development to contribute effectively towards company's quality policy, goals and growth. Plan and identify training needs for the development of subordinates.
24. To execute any other duties assigned by superior.
JOB REQUIREMENTS : 1. Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Chemical Engineering, Tool & Die making, Science or equivalent.
2. Minimum 5 years of working experience in manufacturing environment.
3. Knowledge in Quality System, ISO 9000 or TS16949 or ISO 14001, FMEA, DOE.
4. Possess strong technical acumen and effective analytical problem solving skills.
5. Mature with good leadership and interpersonal skills and capable of leading a team.
6. A results-oriented person with excellent drive, initiative and the ability to work under tight datelines.
