We are seeking an exceptional Principal Engineer of DevOps to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our critical financial switching infrastructure. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead initiatives to enhance our DevOps capabilities, ensuring the resilience, scalability, and security of a system that supports a staggering volume of financial transactions. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity and performance of our infrastructure, contributing to the financial stability and growth of our nation.
Key Areas of ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure Management:Architect, build, and maintain a highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure to support over MYR $10 billion in daily transactions.
Automation and CI/CD:Develop and implement advanced automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments, reduce downtime, and increase deployment frequency.
Monitoring and Performance:Establish comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring optimal system performance and reliability.
Security and Compliance:Implement robust security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, safeguarding our financial infrastructure from threats and vulnerabilities.
Collaboration:Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, QA, and operations, to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Mentorship:Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DevOps engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field – exceptional self-starters will be considered.
10+ years of experience in DevOps, with a strong background in financial services or similarly high-stakes environments.
Understanding of application build stages (build, linting, testing, artifact builds) and how it is interlinked is required.
AWS, RHCE, VCP or Linux Professional Institute certification would be an advantage.
Technical Qualifications
Advanced level knowledge with RedHat, CentOS or AWS AMI.
Proven experience managing large-scale, high-availability infrastructure, with a focus on performance, reliability, and security.
Strong programming and scripting skills (Python, Go, Shell etc).
Experience with Hashicorp Packer, Nomad, Consul, Vault, Vagrant, Terraform, Ansible, Gitlab Runner, Jenkins, Nexus Sonatype, Nginx, HAproxy, Traefik, Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos, Elastic Search, Postgres, MariaDB, Cassandra, Sentry, GlusterFS and SeaweedFS among others.
Additional RequirementsExcellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across the organization.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
