Job Description
Drive and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers, to define firmware requirements and specifications for body worn cameras.
Collaborate with the hardware team to ensure seamless integration of firmware with hardware components, including sensors, processors, and memory.
Design and develop firmware solutions that meet the defined requirements, encompassing key functionalities such as video capture, storage, encryption, image processing, and wireless communication.
Implement efficient and robust firmware code, following best practices and coding standards.
Lead the test strategy to ensure optimal performance, stability, and reliability of body worn cameras.
Provide constructive feedback and suggestions in Design and Code Review especially code optimization and improvements.
Support the production team during the manufacturing process, offering technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance for firmware-related matters.
Lead the team to identify and resolve firmware-related issues, ensuring high-quality product releases.
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications.
Stay updated with the latest firmware development trends, emerging technologies, and industry standards to enhance firmware capabilities and maintain a competitive edge.
Collaborate with Cybersecurity and Data Privacy team to identify secure architecture to meet security and privacy requirement.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor / Master degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering. Prefer certain experience with embedded hardware.
Proven 8 years working experience in firmware development for embedded systems. Working experience in the field of video or imaging products is a plus.
Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages on Linux / RTOS, ARM-based embedded system, software development tools, such as compilers, debuggers. Experience in Rust, C#, Java is a plus.
Strong understanding of Linux kernel, device drivers, and kernel module development.
Experience in the Linux build system. Familiar with Yocto is a plus.
Working experience on low-level hardware interfacing with sensors and peripherals.
Ability to read schematics and component data sheets.
Working knowledge of wireless communication protocols and communication interface, such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Solid understanding of software development methodologies, version control systems, and bug tracking tools.
Strong knowledge of image processing algorithms, compression techniques, and video codecs is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide innovative solutions.
Strong attention to detail, ensuring high-quality and reliable firmware code.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members.#J-18808-Ljbffr
