Job SummaryBased in Kuala Lumpur or Ipoh, the process manager will report directly to Project & Process Director PM APAC.
He/ she will be part of the PM APAC Centre of Excellence (CoE) Team, working closely with different assets within the Asia Pacific region on Process and Engineering subjects, covering a wide range of minerals including talc, calcium carbonate, kaolin, halloysite, ball clay, feldspar, diatomite, and mica.
Responsible for driving plant competitiveness, process engineering for asset expansion or greenfield projects. He/ she will lead and support various process studies, including plant optimization, process debottlenecking, process benchmarking, and new processing conception.
Key skills required would be methodical process analysis, process engineering design, and strong communication competency. Experience in Industrial Processing or Industrial Production is essential. Mining/ Minerals Industry experience is a significant advantage.
Key responsibilities:
Drive continuous improvements, lead process analysis and benchmarking exercises to optimize efficiency, productivity, quality, energy, safety, and ultimately profitability.Debottleneck and troubleshooting, provide assistance to resolve process issues and optimize equipment/ plant performance.Uphold Imerys EHS standards in all phases of work.Define or review process performance management or standard. Audit process and plant operation.Establish and review the relevant Key Performance Index (KPI), facilitate data accuracy and analysis comparison.Ensure efficient Process Control tools are in place for Plant Automation.Conceptions of new processing ideas. Coordinate the development of new processes or optimization, including trials in lab, pilot, or industrial scale, to define and validate processing routes to be implemented.Establish mass balance, water balance, and energy balance.Provide technical support in the Energy Roadmap to reduce CO2 emissions.Provide processing leadership and guidance to "make things happen". Provide mentorship to site teams, establish and transfer Process knowledge and know-how.Animating site teams in action plan follow up, facilitating conclusions and decisions.Review and provide technical assistance on Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) requests.Project Management for site turn-around, process debottleneck mission.Support Project Managers in expansion or greenfield project engineering. Serving as process sponsor in project mode validating process design and equipment specification fit-for-use.Interface with internal and external engineering groups/ vendors/ subject experts to ensure technical feasibility.Lead process commissioning of new equipment or new plant.Education and Experience requirements:
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.Proficiency in a second language commonly used in Asia is necessary.Degree in Engineering, preferably major in Chemical/ Processing/Mineral/ Industrial.7 - 10 years of experience in process-related roles. Regional exposure or Owner experience is preferred.Experience in Industrial Processing or Industrial Production is essential. Mining/ Minerals Industry experience is a significant advantage.Experienced in process design for industrial projects would be a plus point.Knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics:
