Responsibilities:
You would not only interview, but prepare research and dive deep into the business and market news of the day.
We start early: our day starts at 5 am with an editorial meeting in the studio. You are off the air at 10 am and how you structure your research and interview times is extremely flexible.
Our listeners, business managers and professionals, must find you credible and authoritative regarding Malaysian business and markets. This means you need to know your CAGRs, EBITDAs and NTAs - familiarity with standard business language and reporting is a must.
You should exude the values of BFM: professionalism, integrity and intellectual honesty.
You must be a team player, willing to take on any and all tasks that need doing to produce a quality programme.
A degree in business, finance, accounting or related disciplines is beneficial.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Consistently source new, fresh and insightful guests.
Prep and greet guests.
Schedule topics and interviews at least two or three weeks in advance.
Conduct background research for interviews.
Arrange interviews to be pre-recorded, ensuring there is always at least one edited interview in the bank.
Actively seek synergies and collaborations with other cells in areas of mutual interest.
Maintain the contacts database.
Continuously learn new skills (e.g., RSC system, studio operations, editing, production and technical).
Nurture and encourage an ownership mentality of their own cell and for programmes they are not responsible for.
Ensure promos are produced on time, and that commercial obligations are met.
Keep up to date on Malaysian business news and regional markets.
Assist regularly with the preparation of the daily Market Watch questions and reports.
Proactively support each presenter in the performance of their duties.
Ensure that all deadlines are met, all interviews scheduled, recorded and podcasted appropriately.
Accept constructive feedback in the spirit given, and actively seek to improve their programmes in terms of content and technical innovation.
Contribute actively to the social media promotion of their and their cell's programmes.
Volunteer for BFM-wide initiatives without being specifically tasked to do so.
Actively attend available trainings as relevant to their role and programmes.
Able to conceptualise and execute longer-form produced programmes as the need arises.
