We are currently looking for a dynamic and motivatedProduct Traderto join our team and play a key role in driving our trading operations.
TheProduct Traderis responsible for both physical and paper trading, covering all products produced in the refinery. In addition, this candidate will be a pathfinder in exploring key markets and counterparties in regional and global markets for Hengyuan Refining Company.
Job Responsibilities:
Hedging of flat-price, arbitrage, crack, and time spread risks where applicable.
Coordinate with other middle and back offices, including finance, treasury, risk, and credit teams.
Manage commercial relationships with suppliers, receivers, brokers, ship owners, and ship brokers (including traveling to meet customers).
Track market movements closely and steer refinery operations according to market conditions.
Explore key markets and counterparties in both regional and global markets.
Identify and build strategic long-term and spot opportunities across suppliers/end-users, blending, East/West physical arbitrage, and paper structures.
Issue monthly reports on physical deal performance.
Monitor open trading positions daily to ensure risk management and credit limit exposures align with the company's policies and procedures.
Attend key industry events to maintain and develop networks and represent the company.
Strong fundamentals in refinery economics to deliver end-to-end refinery optimization.
Serve as an alternate for refinery economists.
Participate in out-of-hours coverage arrangements.
Job Requirements:
AChemical Engineeringdegree with a minimum of7 yearsof relevant working experience in refinery planning and scheduling. Industry experience in oil trading will be a plus.
Highly developed numerical and analytical aptitude.
Ability to make decisions based on incomplete and changing information and to work under pressure.
Strong influencing, communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills, including the ability to deal cross-functionally and with senior management.
Ability to work independently, self-confident, and able to self-regulate effectively.
Ability to quickly pick up concepts, strategize well, and apply theory to action in a LEAN and sustainable manner.
Prior experience working in a fast-moving commercial environment.
Must be fluent in English, with proficiency in Malay and Mandarin being a plus, as you will be dealing with the APAC region.
Proven capability to understand and manage risks associated with a large physical book.
Strong risk appetite and discipline.
