The Food Production Executive is responsible for overseeing the production process of food products, ensuring the efficient operation of food manufacturing processes, and maintaining the highest quality standards.
This role involves managing day-to-day operations, ensuring production schedules are met, supervising production teams, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
The Food Production Executive plays a key role in maintaining product consistency, minimizing waste, and driving continuous improvement in food production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning and Coordination:
- Assist in the planning and scheduling of food production based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and customer orders.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., procurement, warehouse, quality control) to ensure timely availability of raw materials and packaging materials.
- Ensure production timelines and targets are met in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Monitor and adjust production plans to respond to unexpected issues, such as raw material shortages or production delays.
Production Process Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day production activities, ensuring that food products are manufactured according to established recipes, specifications, and standards.
- Supervise and support production staff, ensuring they have the resources, training, and guidance to perform their duties effectively.
- Ensure that equipment and machinery are operating efficiently and are properly maintained to minimize downtime.
- Implement improvements to production processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure consistent product quality.
Quality Control and Food Safety:
- Ensure that all food production activities comply with food safety standards and regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP, ISO, FDA, local health authorities).
- Monitor and enforce the company's quality control procedures to ensure products meet required specifications for taste, texture, appearance, and safety.
- Conduct regular checks and inspections to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of production areas, equipment, and staff.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to implement corrective actions in case of quality deviations.
Staff Supervision and Training:
- Supervise and motivate the production team, providing guidance and leadership to ensure smooth production operations.
- Organize regular training sessions for new and existing staff on food safety, production processes, and equipment handling.
- Conduct performance evaluations for production staff and recommend improvements or disciplinary actions as needed.
Inventory and Waste Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring that stock is sufficient to meet production needs without overstocking.
- Implement procedures for efficient inventory management, minimizing waste, and ensuring the proper handling of ingredients and finished products.
- Identify opportunities for waste reduction in the production process and recommend improvements.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and food safety regulations at all stages of the production process.
- Enforce the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices among production staff.
- Ensure that production areas are compliant with hygiene and sanitation standards to prevent contamination and uphold food safety.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including production volumes, downtime, quality checks, and any deviations from standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare regular reports on production performance, including efficiency, product quality, and staff performance, for senior management.
- Ensure that all production-related documentation is compliant with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Continuous Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve production processes and systems to enhance productivity, product quality, and overall operational efficiency.
- Participate in root cause analysis of any production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Stay informed of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in food production to drive innovation within the company.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other departments, such as procurement, logistics, and marketing, to ensure production needs align with overall business goals.
- Communicate effectively with other teams to manage expectations, resolve production issues, and share feedback for product development.
Key Requirements:
Education:
- A degree or diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Production Management, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in food safety (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP) are preferred.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in food production, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role in the food manufacturing industry.
- Experience with food safety standards and quality control in a production environment.
- Familiarity with production planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of food production processes, food safety standards, and quality control systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a production team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with production planning or inventory management software.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Working Conditions:
