Purchaser

Develop and maintain a purchasing activity for awarded projects.
Determine method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid.
Confer with vendors to obtain products and service information, verify price, availability, and delivery schedule.
Review material and subcontractor proposals and negotiate purchase orders and subcontracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
Prepare submittals for plants and selected hard materials when required.
Estimate material or service value according to knowledge of market price.
Study market trends, especially with commodity-based materials, and position the company accordingly.
Sourcing, negotiating, and pricing current and prospective suppliers.
Interdepartmentally build relationships and support the Project Management Team.
Reconcile and approve purchase orders and invoices for plants and selected hard materials.
Monitor plant palette inventories and coordinate with internal team members to ensure horticultural best practices procurement, submittals, and record keeping.
Oversee and participate in loading and unloading of plant materials.
Job Requirements:
Extensive knowledge of plant materials.
Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
Ability to negotiate with suppliers and vendors.
Flexible and able to work under tight deadlines.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Background in Horticulture or Nursery is an added advantage.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook.
3 years of related experience.
Preferred candidate fluent in Mandarin to deal with Mandarin clients.#J-18808-Ljbffr
