Responsibilities:
Source and evaluate suppliers for various goods and services, ensuring they meet company requirements for quality, price, and delivery timelines.
Negotiate contracts, purchase agreements, and pricing terms with suppliers.
Place and manage purchase orders, monitor order progress, and follow up on delays or discrepancies.
Manage vendor relationships to ensure reliable and high-quality supplies.
Ensure the timely and cost-efficient procurement of goods, maintaining optimal inventory levels.
Customs Clearance:
Coordinate the customs clearance process for both imports and exports, ensuring that all documentation (invoices, bills of lading, certificates of origin, etc.)
is accurate and complete.
Ensure compliance with local, national, and international customs regulations and tariff requirements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs procedures and international trade laws to avoid delays, fines, or penalties.
Work closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and shipping agents to facilitate the smooth flow of goods across borders.
Ensure the correct classification of goods under the Harmonized System (HS) and manage duties and taxes.
Prepare and submit customs declarations and manage any associated paperwork.
Logistics Coordination:
Work closely with logistics and shipping departments to ensure timely transportation of goods from suppliers to final destinations.
Track shipments and update internal teams on delivery statuses, handling any issues that arise during transit.
Collaborate with warehousing teams to ensure goods are properly received, inspected, and stored.
Documentation and Compliance:
Ensure all procurement and customs documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
Maintain records of procurement activities, including orders, contracts, invoices, and shipment documents.
Stay updated on changes in trade regulations, tariffs, and duties to ensure ongoing compliance.
Cost Optimization:
Monitor and evaluate the cost-effectiveness of procurement strategies and customs processes.
Identify opportunities for cost savings, including negotiating better terms with suppliers, optimizing shipping routes, or leveraging trade agreements.
