Your tasks Understandingthe client requirements and quantities take off as per marking andRCP drawings.PreparingBOQ (bill of quantities) by studying specification sheets from thesales team.Identifyinggaps between BOQ and drawings, specifications and conditions of thecontract and taking it for a logicalclosure.Monitorand control costs throughout the project, identifying cost-savingopportunities.Participationin the pre-tendering activities with client, architect and projectmanagers and raising relevant pre-bid queries from the giventender.Preparingthe initial quote and contract for the sales team from thecompany's side.Coordinationwith the design team for analysing architectural and servicedrawings.Managethe valuation of work done and handle claims andvariations.Preparinginterim and final valuations, variations and claims of theconstruction site.Conductfeasibility studies and value engineeringexercises.Collaboratewith stakeholders to optimise project outcomes and achieve valuefor money.Required skills andqualifications Bachelor'sdegree in quantity surveying, construction management or a relatedfield.5+years of experience in quantity surveying or cost consulting,preferably in the constructionindustry.Soundknowledge of construction industry practices, regulations andstandards.Proficiencyin cost estimation and cost managementtechniques.Knowledgeof service guidelines, such as the National Building Code (NBC),ANSI/ASHRAE for HVAC, and LEED for greenbuildings.Familiaritywith contract administration and legal aspects of constructionprojects.Understandinggeneral contracting, design-build, package contracting, value-basedproject and loading margins and lumpsum in commercial fit-out,residential, hotel or retailprojects.Experienceworking with AutoCAD and validating quantities from the givendrawings.Abilityto manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise taskseffectively.Stronganalytical and problem-solving skills with extraordinarynegotiation abilities.Proficiencyin relevant software and tools for quantitysurveying.Preferred skills andqualifications Professionalmembership or certification in quantity surveying or constructionmanagement.Experienceworking on various construction projects, including residential andcommercial sites.Knowledgeof health and safety regulations and environmentalstandards.Experiencewith building information modelling (BIM) and quantity takeoffsoftware.Familiaritywith contract law and constructioncontracts.Attentionto detail and a commitment to delivering high-qualitywork.Strongproject management skills and ability to work underpressure.
